Because of the Internet, TV, DVD, video and so on, nearly every dog owner now knows about the necessity of being the Alpha Dog in their little dog pack. We may pamper our dogs like never before, with pedicure, clothing and cushy bags nicer than our own, but also know we need to show them who is really boss.
The problem is with many dog owners are they aren’t willing to that. They see their dogs as toys or as children, fun assets in their lives. They don’t want to speak firmly or discipline, they want to be their dog’s best buddy.
This goes completely against your dog’s instinct and can end up sabotaging in your relationship. All those dog training books aren’t kidding when they said your dog craves orders and disciplines. He really does! It’s hardwired into his brain!
First, let’s me give you a brief explanation of Alpha dogs standing and why they are important.
Wolves are in pack. Dogs are descended from wolves, so that pack mentality is ingrained to ways they handle themselves on their own. Once you bring a dog into your home, you’ve given him a new pack, you and your family. The pack mentality affects everything your dog does. Alpha dog eats first, drink first, getting the best sleeping spot and so on.If you have a special rambunctious pup, he or she may have end up the alpha if less than the actual dog pack. Your job is to re established yourself as the alpha dog, otherwise your dog is going to feel entitle to your food, your bed, your family.
What happens when you don’t?
Your dog can become difficult. He claims all your furniture as his own to the point that he will growl and nib when you want him to get down. Hence, to clam his nerves and to relive his anxieties, make sure to give him the best cbd oil for dogs.
Because he is filling the role left open, that of an alpha dog. He figures that nobody else is filling it, and he may as well take the opportunity. That can mean danger encounter with you and even with your kids. And chances are you will blame the dog for it, even when something you could easily prevented it.
In most cases, it doesn’t take much to establish yourself as the alpha dog. If you haven’t gone through alpha training before, there are very simple exercises you can start doing immediately.
If your dog is new to your home, you should have very little trouble with these. If your dog has already established his place as alpha, you will have more of a struggle. In both cases, a little perseverance and consistency can help.
Three Easy Steps to Establish yourself as the Alpha Dog
One. Stand and face in the same direction as your dog, straddle his back and run your hands just behind his front leg, then you’ll lock your hands around his chest. Generally lift his front leg off the ground, and hold that position for at least 15 seconds.

Have your friend hold your dog for a moment, if your dog is small enough, you may be able to hold it on your own. Now rub your index finger up and down his upper muzzle (between the stop and tip of the nose) for at least a minute while looking directly into his eyes.

Have your dog lying on the ground with his feet pointed away from you. Hold his neck, and press down his torso with your other hand. Stay in this position for up to three minutes.
In all three cases, your dog should be praised lavishly when he accepted your actions quietly. This means he’s allowing your dominance. And if he struggles in any of them, growl. Don’t say no. Saying no is human instinct, and that probably doesn’t mean anything to dogs. You should mimic the growl of a large dog, with a deep glutted noise, like “Grrrrrr”. That way you are speaking his language and he knows exactly what you mean.
No, you are not regulated to a life of doing these exercises everyday, but you really should do all three at different time through out the day for a month. After that, it’s all up to you. You can reinforce the dominance on a daily basis, just by interacting with your dog correctly. You can still play and have fun, but you should do so responsibly.
